2020 · United Kingdom
Paper bottle #1
As part of its "Future of Packaging" initiative, Absolut Vodka conducted its very first real-world trials by distributing innovative paper-based prototypes at music festivals in the UK and Sweden.
Unlike later supermarket trials featuring 40% ABV vodka, these initial festival pilots tested Absolut Mixt, a low-ABV (5%) ready-to-drink beverage.
The single-mould bottles were developed in collaboration with Paboco (The Paper Bottle Company) and were composed of 57% sustainably sourced paper and an integrated 43% recyclable plastic lining to safely contain the liquid.
