Michael Israel, a Miami artist who grew up aboard a houseboat and later made his name as a speed painter on stage, paints Florida in airbrushed postcard colours: the bottle becomes a dock piling wrapped in rope and half sunk in the water, a pelican in a captain's cap perches on top, a grinning sun wears sunglasses, and on the speedboat behind, a woman in a bikini shares the deck with an alligator in shades.
