Decanters
This collection gathers Absolut decanters: vessels of crystal or glass that hold the vodka in place of the standard bottle. Absolut has turned to Swedish glassworks for them, where each piece is blown, cut and engraved by hand, and kept them for special occasions, from gifts to people close to the brand to small numbered runs sold in travel retail, usually presented in a case with matching glasses. Made in small numbers, sometimes only a handful, a decanter is among the rarest and most costly objects an Absolut collector can find.
Crystal Pinstripe
2011 · 2 variants
The 2011 follow-up to the Crystal decanter, again designed by Skogsberg & Smart and hand-blown, cut and engraved at Reijmyre, its stripes taken from the Savile Row pinstripe suit. Launched at Stockholm Arlanda on 6 September 2011, it sold in travel retail for about US$1,500, in a chest covered in pinstripe fabric with two crystal tumblers. Each of the 800 pieces was numbered and signed by the master cutter.
Crystal Pinstripe Black
2011 · 2 variants
The black version of the Crystal Pinstripe, made in 2011 in only ten pieces: the Reijmyre glassworks applied a lead-free black coating to the cut crystal by hand, following an old glass-blowing technique. It sold for about US$10,000.
Crystal
2010 · 1 variant
Absolut's first crystal decanter for travel retail, designed by the Swedish duo Skogsberg & Smart and hand-blown, cut and engraved at the Reijmyre glassworks in 2010. It sold in duty free shops for about US$1,400, in a leather case with two crystal tumblers and a funnel. 800 were made.
Orrefors
1987 · 1 variant
A crystal decanter blown by the Orrefors glassworks in Sweden to a design by Olle Alberius. Michel Roux of Carillon Importers, Absolut's importer in the United States, commissioned it in 1987 as a gift for VIPs close to the brand. It came in a wooden box, and 1,250 were made.
