Denim

This collection gathers the Absolut denim skins, starting with the 2013 travel retail edition by the Brooklyn designer Loren Cronk. Cronk's fitted sleeve hid a thermal lining that, once chilled, kept the bottle cold for about two hours, and carried a QR code leading to Drinkspiration, Absolut's cocktail site; it launched at Singapore Changi in March 2013 before moving on to other airports. Elsewhere in Europe the fabric turned up on event and one-off skins made with local fashion names, some of them never distributed at all, which makes them far scarcer than the airport bottle.

  1. Reval Denim Guild 2015 · 1 variant A skin made with the Estonian label Reval Denim Guild: the stripes come off their Visionary Pants and read as a harlequin's motley, finished with a ruff collar at the neck. The argument behind it is that the court jester and the drink do the same job — licence to say what nobody else can, and a reminder not to take any of it too seriously. 1,200 copies.
  2. Denim 2013 · 2 variants A fitted denim second skin by Loren Cronk, of the avant-garde street fashion scene. Inside it is a high-tech thermal shield: out of the freezer, the sleeve keeps the vodka cold for around two hours. A QR code on the skin opened Drinkspiration, Absolut's cocktail app. Sold in duty free.
  3. Diesel Denim 2013 · 1 variant A skin made for Colour Mutation, the event held on 18 July 2013 for the collaboration between Diesel and the G&B shop in Flero, Italy. Four versions were produced — Colour Mutation, Ruby Seabreeze, Tonic and Green Temptation — and none were ever distributed.
