Disco

Absolut Disco is the mirror-ball pack Absolut made for the 2007 end-of-year season. Its skin of exactly 1,000 reflecting prisms takes the shape of the bottle. The pack slides apart to release the bottle inside, and once emptied it hangs from its own loop and works as a real mirror ball. It was a large release, with more than two million packs ordered worldwide in its launch season. In 2009 the idea came back for the United States and Canada in colour, blue over the original vodka and tinted versions matched to the flavours inside, turning the party object into a small family of variations.

  1. Disco Blue 2009 · 2 variants A blue re-issue of the 2007 Disco pack, made for the United States: the same thousand mirrored prisms in the shape of the bottle, sliding apart to release a standard blue label and hanging afterwards as a mirror ball.
  2. Disco Citron 2009 · 1 variant The Citron version of the mirror-ball pack, in yellow, over a standard Absolut Citron. Like the rest of the re-issues it slides apart to open and hangs from its loop once emptied.
  3. Disco Mandrin 2009 · 1 variant The Mandrin mirror ball: an orange faceted pack over a standard Absolut Mandrin, built from the same thousand reflecting prisms as the 2007 original.
  4. Disco Raspberri 2009 · 1 variant The Raspberri mirror ball, in red, over a standard Absolut Raspberri — one of the four flavoured re-issues of the 2007 Disco pack.
  5. Disco USA 2008 · 2 variants The American Disco pack: the same faceted silver mirror-ball sleeve as the 2007 original, with ABSOLUT VODKA printed across the banderole.
  6. Disco 2007 · 5 variants The end-of-year pack for 2007, and a mirror ball rather than a bottle: exactly 1,000 reflecting prisms assembled in the Absolut silhouette, opened by sliding the two halves apart. Empty, it hangs from its own integrated loop and does the job it was always shaped for. 2,900,000 were made.
