Glimmer
Absolut Glimmer is the end-of-year limited edition of 2010, a bottle pressed in faceted glass to look like cut crystal. Its facets catch the light from every angle, and Absolut presented the cut glass as a picture of the purity of the vodka inside. Made at Ardagh's Limmared glassworks in Sweden, it was produced in some 4.8 million bottles and sold worldwide. The design outlived its year: the faceted bottle came back several times with other contents, colours, lights or crystals, sometimes for a single market, which makes it one of the few end-of-year shapes with a life of its own.
Glimmer Blue
2025 · 1 variant
Released in France for the 2025 holiday season, this limited edition brings back the faceted, crystal-cut glass treatment that first appeared on Absolut Glimmer in 2010, this time in a blue finish.
The design is meant to evoke the reflections of the water used in production — a nod to the spring water from Åhus, Sweden, that Absolut has drawn on since 1879. Depending on the light, the cut glass shifts between sharp highlights and deeper blue tones, which makes it one of the more photogenic recent bottles. Sold through French supermarkets while stocks lasted, and not distributed as a worldwide release, which makes it a specifically French entry in the yearly end-of-year series.
Spark
2015 · 5 variants
A re-issue of Glimmer, also sold as Illuminated, with a small LED set into the base: the cut glass above it lights from within.
Glimmer Citron
2011 · 2 variants
A re-issue of the 2010 Glimmer in the same cut-crystal glass, filled with Citron. Made for the United States: 158,000 in 750 ml and 25,000 in the litre.
Glimmer
2010 · 7 variants
The end-of-year bottle for 2010, cut like crystal. Absolut's argument is purity and transparency, and Glimmer makes it literally: the faceting reads as a rough-cut diamond, and stands in for the distilling know-how behind 130 years of the product.
Glimmer Swarowski
2010 · 1 variant
While the standard Absolut Glimmer — known for its diamond-cut glass that catches the light — shipped in the millions worldwide, Absolut's Colombian subsidiary released a high-end version for the local market only, in partnership with Austrian crystal house Swarovski under the slogan "Make the exceptional."
Hand-embellished bottle, label encrusted with 78 blue Swarovski crystals, echoing the purity of Swedish design and the brand's signature color.
It was sold exclusively at major liquor stores in Bogotá until 31 December 2011, at roughly 110,000 Colombian pesos — a steep price at the time.
