Makerfest
Absolut Makerfest skins are hand-sewn leather bottle covers linked to Makerfest, the maker-culture events Absolut ran in Canada from 2014. The campaign brought Absolut together with maker spaces in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal, where local craftspeople ran hands-on workshops, and the covers come out of that world: leather cut and stitched by hand by makers who took part, such as Steven Enns of the Vancouver workshop Hand and Sew. They are craft objects more than packaging, made in runs of ten, and their appeal lies in the materials and the handwork, from Horween leather to brass accents.
