Mode

Absolut Mode was the 2011 end-of-year edition and the brand's most direct move into fashion. The bottle, cut in twelve facets, is wrapped in a band of midnight blue silk with embroidered text. The model Shannan Click starred in the campaign, shot by Sharif Hamza around a giant mirrored bottle, and travellers had their own pinstripe version inspired by Savile Row tailoring. Absolut also handed the idea to designers in several cities, from Gareth Pugh's jagged black geometry for Fashion Week to small London runs sold at Selfridges and one-off pieces from Buenos Aires designers. Those side pieces, made in tiny numbers or only once, are the real hunt.

  2. 2011

Gareth Pugh 2 variants Gareth Pugh's bottle for the Mode edition, worked up from the Stealth Bomber shoulders of his Spring/Summer 2007 collection: black jagged geometry pushing out from the shoulders of the glass. It was sold only during Fashion Week in Paris, London and Milan, each copy numbered and boxed with a certificate.
Han Sang Hyuk 1 variant Three bottles, made by the Korean artist Han Sang Hyuk as his own reading of the Mode series — a Terminator design that has nothing in common with the rest of the set.
Mode 11 variants The end-of-year bottle for 2011, and Absolut's most direct approach to fashion: the glass is redrawn in twelve facets and wrapped in a band of midnight blue silk with embroidered text. The campaign, shot by Sharif Hamza with the model Shannan Click, ran alongside it. Several banderoles exist — one reading CONT.NET, and a French one reading Limited Edition.
Mode - ACW 1 variant Personalized bottle exclusively issued by Absolut Collectors World (ACW) to 50 members of the collectors community.
The banderole is personalized with the recipient's name and comes with a numbered medallion.
Includes certificate of authenticity from Pernod Ricard in Germany.
Peter Jensen 1 variant One of three bottles Absolut made with the London boutique b Store, alongside Sophie Hulme and Tim Soar, in twenty copies each and sold only at Selfridges. Peter Jensen's is dressed in a patchwork scarf — worked from the rabbit print that had become b Store's signature — which comes off the bottle and is wearable.
Sophie Hulme 1 variant One of the three bottles Absolut made with the London boutique b Store, twenty copies each and sold only at Selfridges. Sophie Hulme's is bronzed and hung with chain — the hardware and charms her label is built on.
Tim Soar 1 variant One of three bottles Absolut made with the London boutique b Store, twenty copies each and sold only at Selfridges. Tim Soar's is strapped into a harness that comes out of his leatherwork — in his words, some kinds of fun are strictly for adults.
