Sequin

Absolut Sequin is the end-of-year limited edition of 2017, a bottle dressed in flip sequins that change colour when a hand brushes across them. Released in October 2017 alongside a removable-sleeve design, it lets anyone write a message or draw a mark on the glass that the next person can wipe away, and the blue original took its cue from a night sky. It is a bottle meant to be touched and passed around rather than left on a shelf. In 2018 the idea returned in the United States in new colours, over the original vodka and over flavoured bottles, the largest run reaching 228,000.

  1. Sequin Grapefruit 2018 · 1 variant The pink version of the flip-sequin bottle, over a standard Absolut Grapefruit.
  2. Sequin Lime 2018 · 1 variant The green flip-sequin bottle, over a standard Absolut Lime.
  3. Sequin Silver 2018 · 1 variant The silver flip-sequin bottle, and the largest of the 2018 run at 228,000 copies.
  4. Sequin 2017 · 4 variants The end-of-year bottle for 2017, and the only one you can redraw with your fingers: the coating is made of flip sequins, so a hand run across the glass turns them over and leaves a message or a mark that the next hand can change again. The design takes its cue from a night sky, and was released in two executions for different markets.
