Wallpaper
Absolut Wallpaper is a series of Italian bottles from 2010 and 2011, each dressed by a different designer or artist over a standard Absolut Vodka. The name comes from Absolut's Wallpaper project in Italy, which brought designers and street artists in to recolour neglected city walls, and the bottles carry that idea onto glass: a familiar surface handed over to someone else's pattern. It opened with a design by Alessandro Guerriero printed on plastic foil, in 90,000 copies, and later moved from foil to painted glass with the American artist Ron English. It is a compact Italian story told through design and street art.
