Tack
Absolut Tack bottles were thank-you gifts that were never sold, tack being Swedish for thanks. The idea began in 2008, when the Absolut brand passed to Pernod Ricard: around 1,800 copies were given to the staff of Maxxium, the distributor that had handled the brand. Later Tack bottles kept the same purpose on new designs, each one a private gesture from the company to the people who had worked for it. Because they went to staff rather than shops, they surface rarely, and the rarest were painted by hand, bottle by bottle, by the Swedish painter Astrid Sylwan, so that no two are alike.
