International cities & countries

This collection gathers Absolut bottles dedicated to cities and countries outside the United States, each one a portrait of a place. Most pair a place with an artist who comes from it, so the bottle reads as a local view rather than a postcard: Jamie Hewlett drawing London figures from two centuries of style, or Oskar Metsavaht photographing Ipanema for Rio, the first Absolut limited edition for a Latin American country. Some came with a flavour of their own, made to taste of the place. Others look closer to home, at the Swedish character and at Åhus, the distillery town where Absolut is made.

    Polakom

    2012 · 1 variant

Polakom means for the Poles, and the bottle was sold nowhere else. Swanski, one of the country's most visible contemporary artists, put a stylised V at the centre — the victory sign, which in Poland reads as freedom and independence — inside a transparent wraparound floral in warm contrasting colours. He described it as street art crossed with an international retro feel: something like a poster on a Warsaw wall, for a rally or a club night. 200,000 copies.
