Art bottles

This collection gathers Absolut art bottles: one-off or small-run bottles painted, customised or built by artists outside the regular editions. The projects are mostly local, born of contests, auctions, anniversaries and launch parties rather than of a global campaign, from a British illustration contest to bottles customised for a Stonewall auction at London Pride. What links them is the bottle used as a blank surface, a shape familiar enough that each artist, from street illustrators to painters like Romero Britto, can make it their own, often in a handful of copies or a single one.

    Ash Bishop

    2020 · 1 variant

An art bottle made for the Absolut Create UK contest by Ash Bishop, a sign painter known for glass signage across Britain and beyond, usually finished in traditional gold leaf. Here he works from 1930s European advertising and café fascia lettering, on a palette borrowed from the Espresso Martini.
