Art bottles

This collection gathers Absolut art bottles: one-off or small-run bottles painted, customised or built by artists outside the regular editions. The projects are mostly local, born of contests, auctions, anniversaries and launch parties rather than of a global campaign, from a British illustration contest to bottles customised for a Stonewall auction at London Pride. What links them is the bottle used as a blank surface, a shape familiar enough that each artist, from street illustrators to painters like Romero Britto, can make it their own, often in a handful of copies or a single one.

    Arnoldo Diaz

    1997 · 1 variant

A bottle painted by hand by the Venezuelan artist Arnoldo Diaz. The clusters of coloured circles are his signature — he calls them Molecules, and they run through all of his painting.
